Fondly known as Ambi by all,
Lakshminarayana Subramaniam has already, at the
age of twelve, begun to follow in the footsteps of his
father Dr. L.
Subramaniam. He gave his first performance at the age of
seven and has already
performed in India and abroad. He was part of a special performanc e at the
Gateway of India in 2003, featuring the violin greats Dr. L.
Subramaniam and
Jean Luc Ponty.
Ambi plays Western and Karnatic violin with
equal ease. Ambi has
begun accompanying his father for Karnatic concerts
including a concert at the
prestigious Dussehra Festival at the Mysore Palace and
during the Centenary
Celebration of the Banglaore Gayana Samaj. Ambi was recently
chosen to represent
South Indian Music at a Special Concert at the Sathya Sai
Auditorium where there
was a satellite link to Carnegie Hall with performers
exchanging musical ideas
from both sides.na and V. Seethalakshmi were the driving force behind their son and
the reason he chose a life in music.
